Lindsay Lohan is set to give acting lessons to the homeless. The ‘Mean Girls’ actress – who was sentenced to 120 days in prison, which she was bailed from, and 480 hours of community service last week for breaching the terms of her probation after allegedly stealing a $2,200 necklace from an upmarket jewellers – has to complete 360 hours of work at the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center, which looks after homeless ladies, and the facility is keen for her to share her dramatic talents.
A spokesperson for the shelter said the staff are “extremely interested in having Lindsay contribute her talents when she kicks off her 360 hours of community service this week”.
The workshop, which is called Dames Investing in Very Authentic Storytelling (DIVAS), includes around 15 women who meet for two hours each week to learn how to express themselves through performing.
Sources close to Lindsay say she would be interested in the programme as she sees it as “a perfect fit for her community service”.
As well as 360 hours at the homeless shelter, the 24-year-old star will also have to undergo 120 hours of janitorial work at the Los Angeles County Morgue.
Lindsay – who was under probation for a driving under the influence (DUI) charge in 2007 – is due to return to court on May 11 for a pre-trial hearing in her theft case, after the charge was reduced from felony grand theft to a misdemeanour, with the actual trial planned for June 3.
