Noel Gallagher wants Beady Eye “to do well”. The ‘AKA… What a Life’ hitmaker insists he isn’t happy that his debut solo LP, ‘Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds’ did better than the debut effort from the ‘Bring the Light’ group, which is comprised of his former bandmates, brother Liam Gallagher, Chris Sharrock, Andy Bell and Gem Archer, because some of them are still his friends. He said: “It’s not fair for me to compare mine to theirs. I know you want me to say I danced around on a copy of their album or that I held them in each hand and had a mock fight between them but I genuinely don’t give a s**t about that.
“Chris and Gem are still my mates, I’ve got a lot of friends on their crew. I want them to do well.”
Noel admitted he misses being in a band, but insists it isn’t enough to want to work with one again.
He added to Q magazine: “I left that band for a specific reason and that reason still stands. That it was getting violently out of order. The end. I don’t want to discuss it any more.
“If you ask me, ‘Do I miss being in a band?’, the answer is yes, of course I do. But do I miss it to the extent that I want to do it again? Do I f**k, no.”
