Demi Lovato talks about issues she has “never even spoken about before” on her new album. The ‘Skyscraper’ singer and actress has previously admitted to self harm, being bipolar and getting bullied about her weight, but following her recent stint in rehab for an eating disorder, feels she is ready to dig even deeper for her new record.
She told the E! news service: “There are some topics on the album that are very deep and it’s really out there. “I’m singing about some issues that I’ve never even spoken about before. So I’m going there.”
Demi also revealed she has recently had a new tattoo of a cross on her hand, to display her religious side every time she’s onstage.
She said: “I’m a very spiritual person. I believe in God and I’m a Christian so what better way than to put it where you are going to see it when I’m holding a microphone?”
Despite her recent struggles, the 18-year-old star insists there are some lighter moments on her album, including a duet “with an R&B artist”.
She explained: “I definitely has a lighter feel, not all the songs are of the intensity of ‘Skyscaper’.
