Jessica Simpson’s father is “thrilled” she is marrying Eric Johnson. Joe Simpson – who is daughter’s manager – is overjoyed by how happy the NFL player has made his daughter and says her life has never been better.
He said: “I am thrilled. I love Eric. I think he’s such a great guy and most importantly he loves Jessica and makes her so happy. As a dad, all you want is for your daughter to be happy and she is. He makes her so happy and I love that. I could not be happier!
“This is the happiest she’s been in her entire life. It’s so wonderful to see.”
Joe believes the happiness currently being experienced by Jessica – who proposed to the 30-year-old singer-and-actress in November following a six-month romance – will be reflected in her upcoming new material.
He added: “She is in love and I know she will have so many love songs to write straight from the heart for her new record.”

The showbiz patriarch is also looking forward to celebrating Christmas with his family, admitting the whole day is focused around his grandson Bronx, the two-year-old son of his daughter Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her husband Pete Wentz.
He told Us Weekly magazine: “It’s all about making a big Christmas for Bronx. Having a baby around at Christmas … that’s just magical and it’s wonderful. The whole family will be together.”
