Matt Damon: Children keep him grounded

The ‘Invictus’ star – who raises three children, Isabella, three, 18-month-old Gia, and 11-year-old stepdaughter daughter Alexia, with his wife Luciana Bozan – says his family is his main priority and he would rather spend time with his kids than attend showbiz parties.

He said: “It’s pretty easy to kind of lose your way. I think working consistently with great people is really helpful. Also having kids is really helpful. They kind of disabuse you of the notion of your greatness pretty quickly. There’s a routine that you get into with kids that precludes you from going back to your single days. I’m probably more boring than I used to be. I go to bed earlier and I get up earlier.”

The 39-year-old actor hopes his girls will grow up to be like their considerate mother and he also wants them to continue his humanitarian work.

Matt – who supports many charities, including ONE, a campaign to fight AIDS and poverty in Third World countries – added to Parade.com: “My wife is a very wise and a very thoughtful person. Hopefully, they’ll inherit that.

“From me, I hope they’ll inherit a sense of social justice and a desire to continue some of those programmes that I’m involved with. Maybe not those exact ones, but hopefully, something to further social justice.”
